Harriet Hayner and her friends held the First Annual Michigan Little Celebration in her hayfield in 1960. Over the years, several venues have been utilized, including the Cheff's Center in Battle Creek in 1979, the Kalamazoo County Fairgrounds in 1980, and the current home of the MLC, the Ingham County Fairgrounds.
